From the Station Manager – #6

From the Station ManagerWhat fills up your day?  Probably a mix of homework, chapel, classes, dating, meetings, projects, and hopefully a bit of time for sleep.  If you’re like most people at Cedarville you are always busy doing something.  For most of us, our days are so packed with things to do that we have no time left for God… or anyone else for that matter.

Proverbs 3:27-28 says that isn’t good.  “Do all you can for everyone who deserves your help.  Don’t tell your neighbor to come back tomorrow, if you can help today.”  Apart from the fact that being overcommitted can wear you out and cause you to do nothing to the best of your ability… jam-packing your schedule can also rob you of ministry opportunities.  Planning 100% of your schedule leaves no room for God to insert people and events into your day that you weren’t planning on.  So leave God some “white space.”  Leave the door to your room open occasionally… slow down and actually talk to people you pass… let God plan part of your day through “chance” occurrences.
