From the Station Manager – #8

From the Station ManagerI once had a roommate ask why Cedarville cared what music he listened to or what posters he hung on the wall.  Maybe you’ve wondered the same thing, or something different… like, why do we have to put up with Border Manager [an internet access/restriction manager].  The real question, though, is this: Does it really matter how we use media?

Proverbs 4:23 tells you to, “above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”  Or in other words, protect yourself, because what flows out of your life comes from what is found in your heart.  When you fill your mind with ungodly material from music, movies, magazines, or the internet, it will affect you… whether you think so or not.  That’s why God tells you to guard your mind.  Once you’ve let your defenses down and begun letting the garbage in, it will soon start coming out in your speech, your thoughts, and your actions.  Garbage in.  Garbage out.
